Gather all information needed for your website before giving
it to your web designer. In some cases, consulting with the
designer during the idea stage will be helpful so
you will know what is included in your plan, what is possible
and whether additional costs are involved. Additional pages
can be added later, if needed.
4.
Tell your designers about colors, styles, fonts, etc. that
you like (or dont like) before the work begins. If there
are websites that provide an example of your likes & dislikes,
send the URLs for those sites to your web designers. Examples
are always good!
5.
Since much of the work is done via email, it is important
that you read thoroughly and answer promptly all messages
you receive. We will ask for your input about the production
of the site, and we will ask for your review of drafts as
the work progresses. Email communication is fast, easy, convenient
and inexpensive it works well when everyone reads and
answers the questions.
6.
Allow at least 4 weeks, after you have delivered all necessary
information, for your site to be designed. If more than
3
pages are involved, allow more time.
7.
Your computer skills can help you and they can sometimes
hinder! If you are skilled at scanning, uploading, sending
attachments/pictures (properly optimized for the web), etc.,
you may be able to save time & money by working with your
designer in this way. If you'd like to "learn how
to do something, we will be happy to teach you (at our regular
hourly charge). Otherwise, you can send materials and information
by mail or fax and we will return it.
8.
Pictures! Please send us the best copy you have to work with
. . . professional printed or digital photos, original copies
of brochures, artwork, etc. For digital photos, please send
the highest quality photo you have on a disk or CD, rather
than reducing the size or resolution (unless you know how
to optimize your photos properly for use on the web). We can
work with almost any format or computer media. We want your
photos to look their best!
